ZONE TONES                            Vol. One, No. 2

NOTES FROM THE ATLANTIC ZONE COORDINATOR

STUDEBAKER DRIVERS CLUB, INC.

February 15, 2007

Friends;

I hope 2007 has gotten off to a good start for you and your chapter. There certainly is a lot of buzz about the 43rd International SDC Meet to be held in South Bend, IN. The meet will be held June 18-23rd. Plans are progressing well for the 44th International SDC Meet which is scheduled for September 14-20, 2008. This meet will be held here in the Atlantic Zone in Lancaster, PA.

Speaking of meets, I have not received any information from any Chapter which is interested in sponsoring a 2008 Zone Meet. I believe it is too late for a 2007 Zone Meet, as no chapter has stepped forward, but there is still time to plan a meet for 2008. I again implore regional managers and chapter presidents to assist us in having a 2008 Atlantic Zone Meet.

The following developments may have been received by your or has been advertised through other channels, but I just want to make sure this information gets to all levels in the Zone.

NEW CHAPTER

We welcome the newest chapter to the Atlantic Zone- the Delmarva Peninsula Chapter, Harbeson, DE. The Chapter received it’s charter on December 15, 2006. Mark Henning is the first President of Delmarva Peninsula. It’s newsletter, DelMarVa Sea Hawk is an excellent publication, on a par with many older chapter newsletters. Congratulations to all of the members and especially to Mark and Gail Philippi, newsletter editor.

NEW OFFICER LIABILITY INSURANCE

Ed Reynolds recently announced the new insurance plan approved by the Board of Directors at the Board’s fall meet. This is a very important matter for each chapter. It is now clear what a chapter must do to receive the liability insurance that is now being paid for by the National SDC Board. The coverage begins on July 1, 2007 and ends June 30, 2008. This insurance plan covers all elected/appointed officers at the Chapter level from liability suits when in the performance of their duties. It is our responsibility to insure that all of our chapter officers are covered.

As President, Contact Person, or Regional Manager, you can check out the explanations and form at:

http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/chapterofficerinsurance.asp

This form may be filled out and either e-mailed or printed and surface mailed. Just remember the deadline is JUNE 1, 2007. Send to Brian Millette at abmillette@cox.net.

CHAPTER MEET INSURANCE COVERAGE

There is a new page, which is linked to the Officer Liability Insurance, pertaining to Meet Insurance, a necessity for any chapter holding a meet. You can check out the explanations and form at:

This form has to be printed out, completed and surface mailed to Brian Millette, also.

4TH QUARTERLY REPORT

If anyone did not receive their 4th quarterly membership report, please let me know. Chapter presidents, or someone appointed to do so, should contact new listings and invite him/her to join your chapter. Make a special effort to follow up with delinquent members who have not paid his /her dues for 2007. These reports can certainly help a chapter in its recruiting efforts and retention of members. .

Please contact me at M16-52@adelphia.net if you need assistance, if you have concerns or if you are not getting information you need to go your job. Hope to see some of you at the York Swap Meet in two weeks. I’ll be set up in Spaces 40-42 in Building A.
